Kids, this is for you!' The Mentalist's Simon Baker breaks down in tears as he accepts Walk Of Fame star from Naomi Watts
Simon Baker credits his wife and three children with giving him the support he needs to succeed in Hollywood.
So it was only fitting that they should be at The Mentalist star's side as he was awarded a star on the city's prestigious Walk Of Fame on Thursday.
Baker struggled to control his emotions as he was joined by his wife Rebecca Rigg, and their children Stella Breeze, 19, Claude Blue, 13, and 11-year-old Harry Friday at the event.
'Kids, this is for you,' he said through tears.
'My cup runneth over.'
The proud trio watched as Baker's long-time friend, and fellow Australian, Naomi Watts presented the honour.
While Naomi is preparing for the
biggest night of her career - she is nominated for best actress at next
Sunday's Oscars - The Impossible star made sure to be there for her
friend.
Baker, 43, received Hollywood's 2,490th star which is located just outside fellow actress Eva Longoria's restaurant Beso.
The small screen heartthrob
donned a tailored grey suit with a grey textured tie and his trademark
blonde locks swept back to one side.
Whether planned or otherwise, Naomi matched Simon on his big day also wearing grey.
The Oscar nominee donned a knee-length grey check dress with a square neckline.
Wearing her blonde hair loose and in waves, the actress teamed the dress with patent black leather pumps.
Simon is one of the highest paid actors in US television earning a reported $435,000 an episode for his crime solving series.
Simon plays a fake psychic who leaves his career behind to help the CIA track down killers in the show that has been running since 2008.
But his family, friends and co-stars were not the only ones who came out to support the good-looking Australian.
His female fans packed the area in the hope the heartthrob would treat them to a Valentine's Day they can remember.
Many of the women clutched roses and pictures of the star, screaming as he arrived.
Speaking to Variety this week about being given a star Simon revealed despite his show attracting almost 11.4 million viewers every week he did not believed he deserved it when first told about the honour.
He told Variety: 'I felt a little unworthy.'
The Walk Of Fame had always provided him with inspiration, he explained.
'It was inspiring. One of the biggest hurdles in my career was having confidence in myself. I was surrounded by people who had more belief in me than I had in myself.
'You think probably a lot of people (with stars) weren't necessarily confident they could make a career of it, and that encouraged me to think that maybe I could do it.'
