Anne Hathaway goes for retro chic in shimmery mini as she joins Amanda Seyfried at Vanity Fair party

Come the Oscars on Sunday they will be competing for best dressed in glamorous floor-length gowns.
But Wednesday night's party was all about having fun - and Anne Hathaway and Amanda Seyfried's short frocks reflected that.
Anne borrowed a look from the 1960s when she attended the Vanity Fair and Chrysler Brand Celebration of Les Miserables.

Sweeping her pixie-cut hair to the side, Anne was shining in an ivory sequin mini-dress that showed off her bare and slender legs.
The  30-year-old paired her groovy dress with a creamy brocade jacket that had a furry collar.
Her wrap provided warmth and added style at the same time, along with glittering T-strap high heels.
She also held on to a small gold handbag that was the perfect size for all those evening essentials such as lip gloss.

With the Academy Awards just a few short days away, the Oscar-nominated actress was in a marvelous mood, smiling and posing with other party guests including co-star Eddie Redmayne and Isla Fisher.
Anne has enjoyed a whirlwind of events surrounding the critically acclaimed Les Miserables that stars Hugh Jackman as Jean Valjean and Russell Crowe as the police detective out to get him.
Of course the lingering question is what famous designer gown Anne is going to wear to Sunday's Oscar ceremony.

'Hands on a Bible, I have no idea,' Anne told E! Online.
'I have a few in mind,' she added. 'Something exciting happened today. But I started off this awards season, once I found out I was nominated, with one idea and it's kind of changed.
'I have no idea what's going to happen.'
Amanda Seyfried, 27, who plays Cosette in the movie musical, was radiant in an A-line blue patterned frock brightened by a blue underskirt and matching blue pumps.

Her blonde hair was casually styled straight and to the side, and her make-up was naturally applied with rosy touches to cheeks and lips.
The star-studded party, which took place at Eveleigh restaurant in West Hollywood, supported the Los Angeles Fund for Public Education.
Meanwhile, Vanity Fair also celebrated Silver Linings Playbook with a separate and starry bash in Los Angeles.

Annabeth Gish wore a baggy black and white plaid frock that was bunched at the waist, matching it with black leather platforms.
A welcome sight - that more than made up for Annabeth's bizarre get-up - was actress Judy Greer in a fuchsia frock with short-cropped bolero jacket and animal print heels.
Hollywood leading man Bradley Cooper was a casual man-about-town in navy dress jacket, grey jumper and blue shirt as he posed with Chris Tucker, who was elegant in suit and tie.
Jennifer Lawrence was a contemporary marvel in her strapless monochrome gown that she wore with strappy heels.
