First trailer and poster arrive for The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey
Whet your appetite for next year's Lord of the Rings prequel, The Hobbit, with a very first look at this brand new trailer
We still have twelve months until its arrival, but this wonderful first trailer for Peter Jackson’s The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey tells us it’ll be worth the wait.
From the looks of this trailer, the first of The Hobbit films looks and feels just as it should: like part of the Rings trilogy but more light-hearted
and comic. There’s Bag End, the roll-call of all thirteen dwarves, pipe smoking, folk singing about misty mountain, and the return of sets and characters known and loved from Jackson’s original three films.

What’s more, we also have the first poster below, showing Bilbo [Martin Freeman] on the brink of leaving Bag End, and setting off for that titular journey. Lovely work all round.
The Hobbit: An Unexpected Journey comes to UK cinemas on December the 14th 2012. Watch the very first trailer for the film below.
