The end of a (cringeworthy) era: Jersey Shore stars say their goodbyes as Snooki and crew move out of MTV house for the last time
For six seasons they've been the stars of the MTV reality show America loves to hate.
But today Snooki, JWoww, The Situation and their Jersey Shore castmates packed up their hair gel and gave each other one final fist bump as they left their TV home for the last time.
The cast has now moved out of the Seaside Heights, New Jersey house where their antics played out on the gratuitous series.
Snooki, fluttering her false
eyelashes as she rolled her leopard suitcases along, is making a fresh
start for herself and her new family. To those who have not obsessively
followed along, the petite brunette is six months pregnant
with her first child with fiancé (and part-time castmate) Jionni LaValle.
Dwarfed by her hip-length hair extensions, she was joined by Jennifer 'JWoww' Farley, Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino, Paul 'Pauly D' DelVecchio, Vinny Guadagnino, Deena Cortese, Ronnie Ortiz-Magro and Sammi 'Sweetheart' Giancola as they cleaned out the home and filmed scenes for their sixth and final season.
The sombre mood was palpable among the roommates - notoriously known to argue and throw fists - as they said their goodbyes.
MTV has confirmed the show will no longer feature the group, which together made the Jersey Shore one of America's most popular reality shows.
Over time they have grown into local celebrities. As the cameras rolled, fans cheered, lining the streets barricaded by police while dozens of crew members hovered over the stars to capture their final moments together in Seaside.

From the start the popular
program, which averaged 7.9million viewers per episode in its fifth
season, received a fair amount of controversy.
The fly-on-the-wall documentary follows a group of people who live in the same summer rental.
In addition to its racy content, producers also came under fire for using the derogatory word 'guidos' in promotional material to describe the Italian-America sentimentality of the main characters - despite Snooki being Chilean and JWoww being Irish and Spanish.

In
an acknowledgement of the raunchy nature of the show they were
producing, last week it was revealed the cast members were ordered to
sign a 'VD clause' in their contract before making an exit.
MTV reportedly added the clause so the cast cannot sue the company if they contract a sexually-transmitted (or venereal) disease.
Under the head of 'Health of Other Participants', the clause states that the cast, who include Snooki and JWoww, take full responsibility for any nasty side effects of the frequent sexual encounters featured in the episodes.

A fresh start: Pauly D, JWoww and Snooki are saying goodbye to the show after a successful six seasons
Rolling off: The show was known for pushing boundaries and buttons with its racy content
It states: 'I acknowledge and accept,
that the other participants have not been screened for any diseases,
sicknesses or other health conditions (and specifically have not been
tested for any sexually transmitted diseases) and I assume all risks of
interacting with the other participants, including any consensual
contact.'
The cast members have been unabashed about their sex lives and one-night stands.
As JWoww famously puts it in the opening credits: 'After I have sex with a guy I will rip their heads off.'
And with that, casting executives certainly have their work cut out for them.
