The Best Movie of 2006

I saw this on December 2nd in La Canada, CA @ a Sneak Preview...a week before it opened nationwide. How do I express my utter satisfaction & amazement with this film.

Take Leonardo DiCaprio's best performance over the last 15 years and multiply it by 10. He is mind-blowing. Awarding him an Oscar for Blood Diamond would not be a big enough compliment for the way he aced the role of Danny Archer.

The fabulous & flawless Charles Leavitt script is only enhanced by Ed Zwick's masterful directing job. Djimon Hounsou is perfectly cast and is more-than-believable when he wields a shovel.

And, Jennifer Connelly's understated elegance & expressiveness is captivating.

Put this movie at the top of your list.

Surviving Bee Gee Barry Gibb unveils bronze statue of the band… at the opening of commemorative walkway in Australia

They were three bothers – Barry, Robin and Maurice Gibb – who set the charts alight with their tight harmonies and disco tunes. And on Thursday the last surviving Bee Gees member Barry cut a lonely figure as he unveiled a tribute to the band in Redcliffe, Australia, where they first formed. Posing alongside a bronze statue featuring the group barefoot between the ages of nine to twelve, the 66-year-old officially opened a commemorative walkway, known as Bee Gees Way.   Tribute: Barry Gibb unveiled a bronze statue of him and his brothers during their time in the Bee Gees Speaking to a large crowd who had gathered to celebrate the band, he said: ‘The thing I like best about it is that we're barefoot.
