One Direction to perform Comic Relief single at Brit Awards as band lead stars showing off their red noses for good cause
They are said to be worth £15million each but One Direction are giving up their time for a good cause.
The boyband heartthrobs lead stars sporting Red Noses for this year's Comic Relief campaign as it is revealed the Kiss You singers will be performing this year's charity single at the Brit Awards on February 12.
Harry Styles, Liam Payne, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik and Louis Tomlinson have shown off their red noses in a photoshoot to promote the day along with Miranda Hart, Mary Berry, Olly Murs and Keith Lemon.
The quintet found themselves deeply moved
during a trip to Ghana to film a music video for their Comic Relief
single which goes on pre-sale on Thursday.
The famous boyband are helping fundraising efforts with a fusion of the Blondie’s One Way or Another and The Undertones’ Teenage Kicks.
Speaking to The Sun about visiting the poverty stricken city of Accra, heartthrob Harry Styles said: ‘We all had moments. If you get involved in it and you don’t cry you’re superhuman.
'We’ve seen appeal film before
so we thought we knew what it’s like. But when you’re there and you get
the smells, your eyes hurt from the smoke, you cough, you’re feeling it
all.'
The boyband, who rose to fame on the X Factor, will perform the song for the first time at the Brit Awards next month.
Niall Horan said: ‘We are really excited to be part of Red Nose Day this year.
‘We recorded Blondie's One Way or Another and we really want the song to raise lots of money and for people to show their support by going out and buying themselves a copy.’
The group will appear in a film during Red Nose Day on , which will document their time in Ghana.
Choosing to shoot the video themselves to save cash, they will not receive any royalties from the single, which is bound to be a hit.
Speaking about performing at the Brits,where they are nominated in the Best British Group category, Harry joked to the newspaper that he would be recreating Geri Halliwells now iconic Brit outfit.
Meanwhile it’s not just 1D who are doing their bit, Jessie J is planning on shaving her head life on TV to raise money.
The singer, who will go under
the razor on BBC1 on Friday March 15, said: ‘Shaving my head for charity
is something I've promised to do for a long time and Comic Relief has
given me the opportunity to try and raise as much money as possible for
good causes by doing it.
‘I've loved watching Red Nose Day since I was a kid and I'm so excited to join this year's team of celebrity fun raisers and help support the campaign.
‘So this Red Nose Day I'll be shaving my head live on the night of TV.
‘I won't deny that I'm nervous but I am also honoured to be part of this year's campaign.
‘Together with help from the UK public, we are on a mission to raise more money than ever before for Red Nose Day.
‘So come on, let's do it.’
