Jamie-Lynn Spears' daughter didn't look far for inspiration for a costume day at school on Tuesday.
Little Maddie Spears, four, dressed up as her world-famous aunt Britney Spears, borrowing inspiration from the school girl outfit the pop star wore in 1998’s Baby One More Time video.
Jamie-Lynn, 21, posted the image of her girl on her Instagram account, saying: 'Guess who Maddie want to for Celebrity Day at school!'

Ready for the stage: Jamie Lynn Spears' cute daughter Maddie dressed up as aunt Britney Spears

Dressed in a white shirt and pleated skirt with her cardigan tied at the waist, the adorable child also has her hair styled in pigtails like her superstar relative.

 

Of course the girl is slightly more covered up than Britney originally appeared at the age of 16.
The video attracted some controversy when it was released because it showed her dancing around provocatively while wearing a Catholic school outfit.

But it succeeded in launching her singing career and solidifying her status as a pop star pin-up.
Today Jamie Lynn explained her daughter's outfit was to celebrate her daugher's school's Homecoming Week.

The former star of Nickelodeon's Zoey 101 took time out of her career to focus on motherhood after falling pregnant as a teen.

Jamie Lynn split from her fiance and Maddie's dad Casey Aldridge in March, 2009, just nine months after their daughter was born.

While shunning the spotlight all these years, Jamie Lynn now feels she's mature enough to take another crack at the music business.
She moved to Nashville, Tennessee in 201 to forge a new career and recently started performing on the country music circuit in America’s southern states.
Her debut album is due later this year.
