Pulp-y retro poster arrives for Zac Efron thriller, The Paperboy

The pulp-y new poster for Lee Daniels-directed thriller The Paperboy has a pleasingly retro feel to it, and features front and centre sporting some questionable blonde highlights, with Matthew McConaughey tucked away in the background sporting - of all things - some actual clothes on his upper body.

The Paperboy is the story of a directionless youth [Efron] who helps his reporter brother [McConaughey] investigate the sentence of a death row inmate [] and who falls for the woman Cusack’s character has been romancing by post [Nicole Kidman]. It’s director Lee Daniels’ follow-up to the acclaimed Precious and based on a novel by Pete Dexter.

John Cusack’s New Year’s resolution must have been to get his villain on, because on top of playing a death row inmate here, he’s also tackling the part of a serial killer in The Frozen Ground opposite Nic Cage’s good-hearted cop (anyone else think the Fedex chap delivered the scripts to the wrong house there?).
